Hanne Darboven (1941—2009) was a German conceptual artist from Hamburg, celebrated for her large scale minimalist installations of hand-written tables derived from calculations and logical processes she applied to numerical sequences based on the four to six digits used to notate dates in the calendar. She later combined these with various objects, drawings and ephemera.

In the later part of her career she gave more and more focus towards the translation of her number patterns into a form of 'mathematical music' and had pieces professionally transcribed for performance.
