We've given our website a design refresh in the lead up to Ten Years Alive in September.
The website connects to infrastructure built by Venue CMS — a company co-founded by ideell edition director John Chantler, together with Scott Cazan.
We'd been using one of the Venue starter templates, but have now migrated to a custom design of our own. The content migration we already did from Wordpress over to Venue at the end of 2024 meant that the redesign could be implemented in just a few days and didn't require any changes to our content. It feels nice to surface connections between artists and Fönstret releases now, too and as we think through these last ten years — to list on our homepage all of the artists who have been involved over that time.
We're also in the process of moving all of our video archive over from Vimeo to the new, native streaming and archiving functionality within Venue. Vimeo no longer allow you to download the original files you uploaded, even though they count their size towards your storage allocation. Will also be nice to have all of that material connected to the events and releases they are part of and have another back-up of the OG files (once we find them all !)
